Deluxe Arrives in New York
New State-of-the-Art Motion Picture Laboratory and
EFILM® Digital Intermediate Facility Located in West Village

New York, NY April 24, 2008 – Ronald O. Perelman was joined today by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal, Ethan & Joel Coen, and Brett Ratner to cut the ribbon for Deluxe New York – a new state-of-the-art Motion Picture Laboratory and EFILM® Digital Intermediate Facility. Deluxe, one of the most respected names in the motion picture and television industry, will open the new facility at 435 Hudson Street in May, 2008.

“The motion picture business is alive and thriving in New York, the most iconic soundstage in the world,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “We are thrilled that Deluxe is making a commitment to our city and our economy and I welcome them.”

The brand new state of the art motion picture laboratory will be open for business first in early May, followed by EFILM® digital intermediates, and a full range of digital mastering services in June to support the needs of the feature film, long form television, and commercial production community.

“We are excited about entering the market,” says Deluxe President and CEO, Cyril Drabinsky. “Our New York clients who have come to Hollywood and Toronto to complete their projects can now work in New York. In the past, many New York based filmmakers finished their films and television shows in Hollywood because services they needed were not available in Manhattan, and we are now happy to provide the world class service they have come to rely on,” he adds. The state-of-the-art film laboratory will be one of the largest motion picture film laboratories in the United States outside of Hollywood.

Deluxe’s entrance into the market couldn’t be better timed as New York state prepares to boost the below-the-line tax credit for film and TV productions to 30%. Combined with New York City’s additional 5% tax credit, production companies who qualify will benefit by receiving 35% back on post production services provided by Deluxe New York. Previously, post production had not been part of the tax incentive package.

"New York City is the only city in the country with a film tax credit since Mayor Bloomberg implemented the "Made in NY" incentive program in 2005,” says Katherine Oliver, Commissioner
Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting. “Since then, the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting has stepped up its services to support the increase in film and television production - offering story development support, scouting assistance, access to premium locations, discounts, and red carpet premieres. A movie really can go from script to screen right here in New York,” adds Oliver.

A suite of services will include 35mm and 16mm processing and printing, HD telecine and mastering, along with an EFILM® Digital Intermediate facility. In today’s market, the majority of movies are still shot with 35mm motion picture film but then digital scanned and converted to hi-resolution digital files for greater flexibility in manipulating color and integrating visual effects. The proprietary EFILM® workflow created at the original EFILM® facility headquartered in Hollywood is now expanding to other markets including New York.

The company is also doing its part for the environment operating all of its facilities in a manner that meet and exceed local and Federal environmental and safety regulations (OSHA, US EPA,) throughout North America. Deluxe maintains strict quality control/assurance procedures to monitor all processes and to protect the environment.

Deluxe is the industry leader in motion picture film processing, printing and post production operating facilities around the world, including Hollywood, Burbank, Vancouver, Toronto, London, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid and now New York City.
