President, VFX and AR/VR
Ed leads Deluxe’s global visual effects company Method Studios and AR/VR unit Method EXP. He also leads Deluxe’s editorial brand, Beast, and its LA-based boutique entertainment marketing agency. Under Ed’s leadership, his team has integrated many of Deluxe’s visual effects shops around the world – from Los Angeles to Vancouver, New York, Sydney, Melbourne and India – to operate as one global entity, positioning Deluxe as a top-tier visual effects provider for the motion pictures and advertising industries.
Prior to joining Deluxe, Ed spent 20 years at Digital Domain, where he held roles including Executive Producer, President of Commercials, EVP of Production, Chief Creative Officer and ultimately CEO, and was the architect of its advertising production business. Some of his greatest achievements include executive producing the Academy Award®-winning visual effects for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Titanic” and “What Dreams May Come,” along with other top features, hundreds of commercials, and the ‘virtual Tupac hologram’ appearance that stunned the world.
As a kid, Ed was obsessed with horror movies from the 40s and 50s. His fascination with the special effects makeup that brought those films to life was the jumping-off point for his own visual effects career. His passion for creating movie magic and working with filmmakers, producers and directors on hit projects still drives him as Deluxe’s President and General Manager of Visual Effects and AR/VR.
If Ed was not at Deluxe, he’d be a rock star.
