The annual HPA (Hollywood Professional Association) Awards honoring groundbreaking technology and creativity were held November 17 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Deluxe artists were awarded top honors in four categories. Company 3’s Tom Poole received the award for Outstanding Color Grading/Commercial for his work on “Odyssey” for Hennessy; Paul Westerbeck, the award for Outstanding Color Grading/Television for work done at Encore on “Gotham: By Fire;” the team of Ben Walsh, Ian Holland, Brian Delmonico and Brian Burke from Method Studios was recognized for their work on “Halo 5: The Hunt Begins” for Outstanding Visual Effects/Commercial; and Iloura’s Glenn Melenhorst, part of the team that created the amazing effects for “Game of Thrones: Battle of the Bastards,” was recognized with the Award for Outstanding VFX/Television.
