The Atlanta Falcons faced off against the New England Patriots for this year’s big game, and Deluxe was proud to have contributed to 36 (!) commercials shown throughout the broadcast, that proved as much of a draw as the game itself and reached 111.3 million viewers.
Company 3’s Stefan Sonnenfeld colored an empowering father-daughter spot for Audi; comedic T-Mobile spots starring Justin Bieber, Terrell Owens, Rob Gronkowski, Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg, and Kristen Schaal; two regional spots for Reliant Energy voiced by Matthew McConaughey (cut by Beast’s Ariel Quintans); a spot for Princess Cruises; and a pre-game spot for Adidas starring Karlie Kloss, Candace Parker, and other female fitness stars.
Also from Company 3, Tom Poole colored a wide range of spots for the game, including a spot for Squarespace starring John Malkovich; distinct tales of the American Dream for 84 Lumber and Budweiser; a humorous Bai spot starring Justin Timberlake and Christopher Walken; an Easy Rider-themed spot for Mercedes starring Peter Fonda; a new dynamic trio of Terry Bradshaw, Jeffrey Tambor, and Rob Gronkowski for Tide; “Inside These Lines” for the NFL; spots for Spectrum and Sprite; and an epic historical battle starring Aaron Eckhart, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Fan Bingbing for mobile game Evony: The King’s Return (with VFX from Method Studios).
Additional spots from Company 3 colorists include: Dave Hussey colored a spot for Persil starring Bill Nye, a regional spot for Fitbit (cut by Beast’s Brian Lagerhausen), and a Daytona 500 spot for Fox Sports. Sean Coleman colored a spot for Coca Cola and another spot for KFC in which celebrity Colonels Rob Riggle and Billy Zane face off. Tim Masick colored a fun spot for Busch, and Tim Stipan colored a lavish CG spot for Elder Scrolls. Sofie Borup colored a national spot for Michelin plus a regional spot for winemaker Yellowtail. Siggy Ferstl handled color for Alfa Romeo plus regional spots for the Toyota Mirai and C Spire. Also shown regionally, Tyler Roth colored spots for Porsche and Northwestern Medicine.
In addition, Beast’s Connor McDonald cut an action-packed spot for Wix starring Jason Statham and Gal Godot.
It was also exciting to see promos for upcoming features that our artists are working on, including “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” which will feature VFX work from Method Studios, “A Cure For Wellness,” being colored by Company 3’s Stephen Nakamura, and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” and “Transformers: The Last Knight” which are being colored by Company 3’s Stefan Sonnenfeld.
Congratulations to all of the talented artists who contributed to another strong big game showing!
